Jammu, Apr 6: Bahujan Samaj Party today discussed preparations for the upcoming events with regard to celebrations of Dr B R Ambedar’s birth anniversary in the region.
Presided over by the BSP JKUT president, Darshan Rana, the meeting was attended by BSP Central Coordinator and J&K In-charge, Nitin Singh as chief guest. State Coordinator Sunil Majotra, vice president Charanjit Chargotra, general secretaries Raja Singh, Mangal Das, and Baldev Raj-along with all district presidents and other senior leaders were present during the meeting.
BSP Central Coordinator announced that the party has decided to celebrate the 135th birth anniversary of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar, on a grand scale. He stated that the program for the Jammu Zone would be held in Samba district, while the program for the Udhampur Zone would take place in Kathua.
Issuing directives to party leaders and workers, he urged them to work with utmost sincerity and responsibility to ensure the success of these events, and to encourage as many people as possible to participate in them. He emphasized that it is imperative for the BSP to come to power to secure justice for the Dalit and backward sections of society.
Darshan Rana said that the BSP is organizing celebrations for the birth anniversary of Dr Ambedkar, on April 14 across the Jammu and Udhampur Zones. The event for the Jammu Zone will be hosted in Samba district, while that for the Udhampur Zone in Kathua district. Some important decisions will be taken during these events, he dded.
