SRINAGAR, Apr 6: Private hospitals and dialysis centres operating across J&K today warned that they will stop providing treatment under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY)-Sehat Scheme from April 15 if long-pending payments are not released by the authorities.
In a statement issued here, healthcare providers under the banner of the J&K Private Hospitals and Dialysis Centres Association, said reimbursements from the State Health Agency have remained unpaid for months, with dues pending since July 2025 and, in some cases, dating back to 2021.
The association also said it has formally written to the Chief Executive Officer of AB-PMJAY, seeking immediate intervention and release of the pending payments to avert disruption in patient care.
The association stated that despite continuing to deliver surgeries, cardiac procedures, dialysis and other life-saving treatments under the scheme, hospitals are now facing a severe financial crunch.
“Today, we stand at a breaking point,” the association said, adding that suppliers have issued a final deadline of April 15, after which they will stop providing essential medical supplies if dues are not cleared.
The association further stated that repeated appeals to political and administrative authorities have failed to yield any resolution so far.
Highlighting the impact on staff, the association said many healthcare workers and their families have been under financial stress, with some unable to celebrate recent festivals with dignity due to delayed payments.
“With exhaustion of funds, we will not be able to provide treatment on Golden Card from April 15 onwards until our payments are released and supplies are restored,” the association said.
It has appealed to the public for understanding and support, stating that hospitals have continued services despite mounting financial pressure but can no longer sustain operations without timely reimbursements.
