JAMMU, Apr 6: Shridhar Patil today assumed charge as Deputy Inspector General of Police, Jammu-Samba-Kathua (JSK) Range.
After taking over, the officer reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining peace, public order and the rule of law across the range.
He said policing would remain citizen-centric, with public cooperation playing a key role in effective law enforcement.
He stressed that priority would be given to crime prevention and detection through swift and impartial investigations, with strict action against offenders.
He also highlighted the need to build public trust, strengthen police-public relations, and ensure a robust grievance redressal system.
Transparent policing practices and zero tolerance towards corruption will remain key focus areas, he added.
The DIG said strict action would be taken against drug abuse and terrorism, while ensuring women’s safety through strengthened policing measures.

Appealing to the public, especially the youth, he urged them to cooperate with the police in maintaining peace and harmony in the region.
