Two-day JTS Meet concludes with focus on hip, knee & trauma reconstruction

JAMMU, Apr 5: The two-day Annual Jammu Trauma Society (JTS) Meet 2026 concluded on a high academic note, bringing together leading orthopaedic minds from across the country.
Organized by the Jammu Trauma Society (JTS) in association with IAA and JKOA, the Conference was centered around the theme “Traumaplasty”, reflecting the evolving integration of trauma and reconstructive orthopaedics.
The Conference was conducted under the leadership of Principal GMC Dr Ashutosh Gupta (patron), HoD Orthopedics Dr Sanjeev Gupta (chairperson), Head of Unit Dr Abdul Ghani (convener), with Dr Vikas Padha & Neeraj Mahajan as co-organizing secretaries and Dr Rahul Mahajan serving as organizing secretary.
A distinguished national faculty including Dr Rakesh Rajput (president, Indian Arthroplasty Association), Dr Vijay Kumar (Arthroplasty surgeon AIIMS Delhi), Dr Manuj Wadhwa (Chandigarh), Dr Shubhang Aggarwal (Jalandhar), Dr Sushrut Babhulkar (president, Trauma Society of India), Dr Avtar Singh (Amandeep Hospital, Amritsar), Dr Harpal Singh Selhi (DMC Ludhiana) and Dr Iqbal Singh Ghai (Amritsar) enriched the scientific deliberations.
They were complemented by an equally strong regional faculty comprising Dr Altaf Kawoosa (Prof & Head Orthopedics, Bone & Joint Hospital, Srinagar), Dr Khalid Muzaffar (HoD GMC Doda), Dr Rashid Anjum, Dr Amit Thakur (HoD, AIIMS Jammu), Dr Iftikhar Wani, Dr Younis Kamal, Dr Gagandeep Singh Raina, Dr Arshad Bashir and Dr Pulkit Sharma, among others.
The academic proceedings commenced with the IAA Connect Workshop on Total Hip Replacement (THR) and Total Knee Replacement (TKR). Sessions on Primary THR, Primary TKR, Precision & Reproducibility in TKR and live surgical concepts including robotic knee replacement and soft tissue balancing held.
Day 2 featured focused scientific sessions on hip and knee, including complex topics such as periprosthetic fractures, TKR in neglected trauma, acetabular reconstruction, and limb salvage procedures.
The conference also emphasized practical learning through VAC therapy workshops, case-based discussions, and panel interactions. High-yield sessions on revision arthroplasty, intraoperative complications, and bone loss management provided valuable insights into real-world surgical challenges.
The two-day event concluded with vote of thanks delivered by Dr Rahul Mahajan.
