JAMMU, Apr 5: Anganwadi workers have decided to boycott the Poshan Tracker App on the call given by Akhil Bhartiya Anganwadi Karamchari Mahasang in protest against Central Govt not acceeding their long pending demands.
Decision in this regard was announced during a meeting of Anganwadi Workers Welfare Association, held under the chairmanship of Association President Shobha Sharma.
Association said the honorarium of Anganwadi workers and Helper has not been revised from the last 15 years and very meagre amount of Rs 600 is being paid to Anganwadi workers and 300 to Helpers by the J&K Govt. since 2010. “On the other hand J&K MLAs were getting Rs 40000/- plus in 2010 and as on date they have increased their salary allowances more than 500 percent whereas Gratuity payments of Anganwadi workers ordered by the competent courts are not being released,” observed the meet.
Meanwhile, the Association leaders, also met with MLA Devyani Rana and apprised her of the problems being faced by the Anganwadi workers. The MLA listened to their grievances and assured to raise all these issues with the concerned authorities for redressal of the same.
