JAMMU, Apr 4: A seminar on “The Art of Advocacy” was organized by the Young Lawyers Association of the J&K High Court at the Conference Hall of Lawyers’ Chambers, District Court Complex, Jammu, where a large number of advocates, especially young lawyers, participated and gained practical insights into legal practice.
Senior Advocate Sunil Sethi, who was the keynote speaker, highlighted the importance of preparation, clarity of thought, court craft and professional ethics in the legal profession.
He encouraged young advocates to work hard and uphold the dignity of the profession, stating that honesty and courage are key qualities for success.
He also advised lawyers to continuously improve their knowledge and recommended reading books on advocacy to strengthen their understanding.
Stressing discipline, he said there are no shortcuts in the profession and respect must be earned through conduct and dedication. Principal District and Sessions Judge Jammu, R N Wattal, who attended the seminar as the guest of honour, appreciated the initiative and said such programmes help in shaping responsible and skilled advocates. He urged young lawyers to remain committed to learning and maintain high professional standards.
The seminar provided a platform for interaction and exchange of ideas among participants. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, with the organizers expressing gratitude to the speakers and attendees.
The association reiterated its commitment to organizing similar events for the development of the legal fraternity.
