JAMMU, Apr 3: An international training programme on “Leadership for 21st Century Professionals” is currently underway at the V V Giri National Labour Institute (VVGNLI) under the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation Programme of the Union Ministry of External Affairs, bringing together professionals from across the globe to enhance leadership skills and collaborative capacities.
The training, which began on March 30, has brought together professionals from multiple countries and diverse institutional backgrounds, aiming to strengthen leadership capacities in an increasingly dynamic and interconnected global environment.
As part of the ongoing sessions, Rizwan Uddin, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner-I and Chief Learning Officer at PDUNASS, conducted specialized modules on “Goal Setting” and “Team Building.” The sessions focused on aligning individuals from varied cultural and professional backgrounds into cohesive teams despite time constraints and the structured schedule of an international programme.
During a practical exercise, participants were divided into four teams comprising members from different countries. Each team was assigned a task involving preparation of dishes in a fireless environment using limited raw materials within a stipulated time. Despite cultural differences and varying value systems, the participants demonstrated effective collaboration, communication, and group dynamics.
The teams successfully completed the activity within the allotted time and presented their final outputs in an organized manner before senior officials, including Director General Dr Arvind.
Course Director Otojit Kshetrimayum, along with Joy, facilitated the sessions and supported participants throughout the activities, contributing to the programme’s effectiveness.
Participants from Tunisia, Sri Lanka, Ghana and Tajikistan were particularly acknowledged for their active engagement. The programme continues with further sessions aimed at building leadership competencies among international professionals.
