DODA, Apr 2: Police here today solved a cash theft case and arrested the accused and recovered the stolen cash from him within just six hours.
On April 1, 2026, a complainant, Abid Hussain, resident of Doda, submitted a written complaint regarding theft of cash amounting to Rs. 80,000 from his office located at Nagri, near JK Bank ATM, which had occurred on the night of March 28, 2026.
Acting swiftly on the complaint, a case in FIR No. 73/2026 under Sections 331(4)/305 of BNS was registered at Police Station Doda.
On the directions of SSP Doda, Sandeep Mehta a Police team was constituted under the leadership of SHO Police Station Doda.
During investigation, the team worked diligently and successfully recovered the stolen cash after arresting the accused who has been identified as Mashqoor Ahmed, son of Mohd Yousuf, resident of Sawni, Ramban, at present Nagri, Doda.
Investigation in the case was underway.
