WASHINGTON, April 1 : US President Donald Trump said that the military operation against Iran is likely to last for another 2-3 weeks.
“We’re finishing the job. And I think within maybe two weeks, maybe a couple of days longer to do the job, but we want to knock out every single thing they have. Now, it’s possible that we’ll make a deal before that, because we’ll hit bridges,” Trump told reporters.
He also said that petroleum prices will decrease after the United States stops the military operation against Iran.
“All I have to do is leave Iran, and we’ll be doing that very soon, and they’ll become tumbling down,” Trump said.
The US President further said that he is not concerned about the Iranian threat to hit properties of the US companies in the Middle East.
“No,” Trump told reporters, answering the question about whether he is concerned about that.
Earlier, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it would attack properties of 18 companies in the Middle East – including Microsoft, Apple, Google, and Nvidia – starting from Wednesday if there are killings in Iran.
On February 28, the United States and Israel launched strikes on targets in Iran, including in Tehran, causing damage and civilian casualties. Iran responded by striking Israeli territory and US military facilities in the Middle East.
The escalation around Iran has led to the de facto blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, a key route for deliveries of oil and liquefied natural gas from the Persian Gulf countries to the global market, and has also affected the level of oil exports and production in the region.
