DODA, Mar 31: Police here today arrested a drug peddler and recovered heroin like substance from him.
On the directions of SSP Doda, Sandeep Mehta, cops at a Police checking point in Baggar area under the supervision of DySP DAR Doda and SHO Assar, intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK02B-J0087. On noticing cops, one of the passengers attempted to conceal his identity. Acting swiftly, the cops apprehended him and he was identified as Aquib Farooq, son of Farooq Ahmed, resident of Khelani, Doda.
During his checking, a polythene bag containing approximately 7 gram heroin-like substance was found. In this connection, a case in FIR No. 05/2026 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Assar and investigation was underway.
