JAMMU, Mar 31: MLA Jammu West, Arvind Gupta here today recommended the installation of an elevator at Atam Bhawan (Jain Sathanak) in Jain Nagar from his Constituency Development Fund (CDF) and handed over an official recommendation letter in this regard to the representatives of Jain Sabha.
The proposed project includes the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of one 8-passenger (544 kg) Machine Room Less elevator at the community hall, aimed at improving accessibility for residents and visitors.
The project will incur estimated expenditure of Rs. 34 lakh excluding the cost of a DG set.
Emphasizing timely execution, Gupta directed the concerned authorities to scrutinize the proposal and grant technical, financial and administrative approvals within 45 days, as per CDF guidelines.
Speaking on the occasion, Arvind Gupta said: “The installation of an elevator at Atam Bhawan will greatly help senior citizens, women and differently-abled individuals.”
He stressed that the work once started should be completed at the earliest and instructed that in case of any delay or ineligibility of the proposed work, detailed reasons must be communicated within the stipulated timeframe.
Members of the Jain Sabha expressed gratitude to the MLA.
