JAMMU, Mar 30: A meeting of Kashmiri migrant relief holders and over-aged youth was held today at Geeta Bhawan, Muthi, to deliberate on the pressing issues of enhancement of cash assistance and compensation for the loss suffered over the past 36 years.
During the meeting, participants expressed serious concern that there has been no enhancement in cash assistance for the last eight years. In view of the continuous rise in prices of essential commodities, the members highlighted that it has become extremely difficult for affected families to sustain their livelihoods and meet basic needs.
After thorough discussion, the gathering unanimously resolved that a peaceful agitation will be initiated to draw the attention of the Government towards these long-pending and genuine demands. The members emphasized that the agitation will be conducted in a disciplined and democratic manner with the aim of seeking justice and rightful support.
The meeting concluded with a collective commitment to unity and sustained efforts until the demands are addressed.
