JAMMU, Mar 29: Central Indian Historical Research Foundation (CIHRF) and Vidya Career Research Foundation conferred Dr. S.R Verma Memorial Award to Dr. Sonia Jasrotia, daughter of Lt. Atma Singh Jasrotia, of village Chandwan, Tehsil Marheen in Kathua.
Dr. Sonia Jasrotia, a student of Jammu University is presently a Resource Person at the Centre for Buddhist Studies, Central University of Himachal Pradesh, Dharmshala.
A handout stated that the award was given to her during a National Conference titled ‘Unique Heritage of India: Art, Culture, Archaeology and Environment’, held at Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, for her outstanding contribution in ancient history and archaeology and scholarly work and academic achievements in the field of Buddhism and Ancient Archaeology in India and abroad.
Dr. Jasrotia has represented India in many countries like Cambodia, Thailand, Veitnam, Sri Lanka, United Kingdom, Jordan etc.
