SRINAGAR, Mar 28: J&K National Health Mission Employees Association (NHMEA) has expressed serious concern over long-pending demands related to salary revision and job security of National Health Mission (NHM) employees across the Union Territory, warning of peaceful protests if the issues remain unresolved.
The concerns were raised during a meeting attended by the Association’s leadership, including members of its reformation committee, president, senior vice president, core committee members, district and block presidents, and representatives from District and Block Programme Management Units (DPMUs/BPMUs) as well as Mid-Level Health Providers (MLHPs).
Addressing the gathering, chief spokesperson Abdul Rauoof termed the meeting a decisive moment in the ongoing struggle of NHM employees, stressing the need for immediate and concrete intervention.
Participants voiced dissatisfaction over the continued neglect of NHM-related issues despite repeated assurances from the authorities.
NHMEA president Muneer Andrabi highlighted both achievements and pending challenges, stating that delays in addressing genuine demands have created uncertainty among employees.
Senior vice president Altaf Bhat called for unity among members, describing it as the Association’s greatest strength.
The Association reiterated its key demands, including salary revision in line with the 7th and 8th Pay Commissions and assured job security.
