Khatana raises key rural development issues in RS

NEW DELHI, Mar 28: Senior BJP leader and Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, Gulam Ali Khatana, raised an important Unstarred Question in Parliament highlighting critical aspects of rural development and seeking detailed information on the implementation and impact of various Government schemes.
In response, the Ministry of Rural Development provided a comprehensive written reply outlining the progress and ongoing efforts under key rural development programmes across the country.
The Ministry informed that multiple flagship schemes are being effectively implemented to promote rural livelihoods, generate employment, and improve infrastructure in rural areas. Special emphasis has been placed on ensuring transparency, accountability, and efficient delivery through digital monitoring systems, social audits, and strengthened coordination with State Governments and Union Territories.
The reply further highlighted that sustained efforts are being made to enhance rural connectivity, expand housing facilities, and create durable assets, thereby improving the overall quality of life in rural regions. The Government reiterated its commitment to inclusive growth and ensuring that the benefits of development reach the last mile.
Raising the issue Khatana emphasized that rural development remains central to India’s socio-economic progress. He stressed the need for continuous monitoring of schemes to ensure their effective implementation at the grassroot level.
He further underscored the importance of strengthening last-mile delivery, addressing local-level challenges, and increasing awareness among beneficiaries to maximize the impact of Government initiatives.
The Ministry assured that it remains committed to further improving implementation mechanisms and addressing any bottlenecks in coordination with State Governments.
