J&K Police Attach Properties Of Three Proclaimed Offenders In Sopore

SRINAGAR, Mar 27: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday attached immovable properties of three proclaimed offenders in Sopore sub-district as part of sustained action against the terror ecosystem.
According to a police statement, the attachment was carried out by Sopore Police in connection with FIR No. 02/2008 under Sections 2/3 of the E&IMCO Act registered at Police Station Panzalla.
Police said the attachment proceedings were conducted at Nadihal in collaboration with the Revenue Department against three accused persons who had been evading arrest for several years and were declared proclaimed offenders by the court under Section 87 CrPC.
The attached properties include land belonging to Reyaz Ahmad Lone measuring 2 Kanal 16 Marlas, land belonging to Aijaz Ahmad Lone measuring 10 Marlas and land belonging to Mushtaq Ahmad Shah measuring 2 Kanal.
Police said that following court orders, the attachment proceedings under Section 88 CrPC were executed after due verification through revenue records and local enquiry. The process was carried out in the presence of Revenue officials and independent witnesses, and all legal formalities were completed.
Police said the action is part of continued efforts to enforce the rule of law against absconding accused involved in activities prejudicial to the security and integrity of the nation.
