SRINAGAR, Mar 26: Kashmiri Pandits today took out a Shobha Yatra in Srinagar to mark Ram Navami with religious fervour and devotion, as scores of devotees participated in the procession in the city.

The procession began from Tankipora, near the historic Kathleshwar temple in the old city, and moved through Habba Kadal, Barbarshah and Lal Chowk before culminating at the starting point. Participants, included men, women and children, who walked in groups singing devotional songs and carrying religious symbols, creating a vibrant atmosphere across the route.
Devotees, many dressed in traditional attire, also present tableaux depicting scenes from Hindu mythology, adding colour and cultural significance to the procession.
Authorities deployed security personnel at key locations along the route, with checkpoints and surveillance in place to ensure the peaceful conduct of the procession. Traffic was regulated in parts of the city as the yatra passed through busy areas, including city centre Lal Chowk.
The event saw participation from people across age groups and was marked by what organisers describe as communal harmony, with members of other communities also extending support and joining the celebrations.
