SRINAGAR, Mar 25: In a significant relief to families who lost their loved ones, J&K Bank has settled insurance claims worth Rs 4.41 crore under its Met Loan & Life Suraksha (MLLS) scheme in the Baramulla zone.
The amount has been disbursed among 99 families of deceased borrowers across various branches, helping ease their financial burden during a difficult phase.
The total claim amount was symbolically displayed during a function attended by DGM and Zonal Head (Baramulla) Tanveer Ahmad Najar along with officials from insurance partner PNB MetLife.
Senior bank officials, including cluster heads and branch heads from Baramulla, Kupwara, Sopore and Bandipora, were also present on the occasion.
The beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the bank and the insurance company for the prompt settlement, stating that the support helped them cope with financial stress.
Speaking on the occasion, the Zonal Head Tanveer Ahmad Najar emphasized the importance of insuring loans to protect families from unforeseen hardships.
He said such initiatives ensure that liabilities do not become a burden on the families of borrowers.
Representatives from PNB MetLife also reiterated their commitment to standing by customers in times of need and ensuring quick claim settlements, highlighting that timely assistance remains a key priority.
