LUCKNOW, Mar 25: Most of the products falling under One District One Product (ODOP) category including Petha (a type of sweet) of Agra, sarees of Banaras, brass of Muradabad, temple bells of Etah etc are much in demand in the international markets at present.
This was stated by Special Secretary MSME & Export Promotion, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Khadi & Gramodyog Board, Uttar Pradesh, Shishir during an interaction with a battery of journalists from Jammu who were on a visit to Lucknow.
The CEO also talked about many success stories and informed that their training centres and certain schemes of the Centre to promote Gramodyog are working well and generating employment. Click here to watch video
He further said that to promote Khadi and Gramodyog they are vigorously implementing all the concerned schemes and using all their resources.
“We are emotionally connected with Khadi as our freedom struggle was also linked to it,” Shishir maintained adding, “Using new technology and resources we are promoting Khadi and new Gramodyog products through new marketing schemes.”
He said that they are organising Khadi fashion shows, providing market to Gramodyog products, skilling the people making these products, giving loans to promote Gramodyog sector, certifying these handmade and other such products so that they may get good price in the market and people linked with them get employment.
“Using social media and marketing apps we are now promoting our Gramodyog and Khadi products which mostly are handmade and liking of the people is shifting from cosmetic to organic and hand made products for using on body and in eating,” the CEO Khadi & Gramodyog Board, UP told reporters.
