REASI, Mar 23: In a tragic road accident in Mahore area, teen-age sibling among three persons lost their lives while five others sustained serious injuries when a car rolled down from Budhan-Dagantop road, a hilly stretch notorious for its sharp curves and difficult terrain.
All the victims are close relatives and were on way towards Gool from Budhan where they had gone for jointly celebrating the festival of Eid-ul-Fitr.

Condition of the four injured was stated to be critical. They were first referred to district Hospital Reasi and then to Government Medical College Hospital Jammu
The accident took place around 4:45 PM when the Eeco car, bearing registration number JK19A-4098 skidded off the road while negotiating a sharp curve on the hilly stretch and plunged into deep gorge.
Two occupants died on the spot, while another succumbed to injuries while being shifted to hospital. The deceased have been identified as Haqnawaz (22), son of Mohd Shafi, resident of Budhan, Reasi; Shahraza Rahi (18), daughter of Mohd Shafi, resident of Mahakund, Reasi and her brother Rafaqat Hussain, age 15 years.
Five other persons sustained injuries in the accident. They were initially rushed to Community Health Centre (CHC) Mahore for first aid. However, considering the critical condition of four of the injured, they were later referred to District Hospital Reasi where doctors furthered referred them to GMC Hospital Jammu for advanced treatment.
The injured have been identified as Umar Gul (21), son of Mohd Shafi, resident of Mahakund, who was driving the vehicle; Shahzia Kousar (18), daughter of Layqat Ali, resident of Dachan; Sadam Hussain (22), son of Ghulam Hussain, resident of Tangali; Shahnawaz (22), son of Mohd Shafi, resident of Budhan; and Adil Hussain (23), son of Mohd Rafi, resident of Mahakund.
Condition of Adil Hussain was stated to be stable at CHC Mahore while other four injured are undergoing treatment at GMC Hospital Jammu.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated further investigation into the cause of the accident.
