JAMMU, Mar 20: Vishwa Kashmiri Samaj released Saptrishi Calendar (Samvot 5102) at a Navreh Millan held here at Dugra Nagar today.
The function was attended by Swami Vishal Ji Maharaj as the chief guest, besides large number of socio political activists and leaders of displaced Kashmiri Pandit community also participated.
The Saptrishi Calendar (Samvot 5102) was released by the chief guest. Swami Kumar Ji also attended the function as special invitee and delivered lecture highlighting significance of Navreh.
Acharaya Sharad Dhar also spoke on the occasion and greeted the Vishwa Kashmiri Samaj for releasing this religious calendar as well urged them to continue to work more vigorously for the community.
Kiran Wattal convenor, VKS and M.K.Yogi its general secretary in their address explained in detail the importance of this calendar from the religious point of view.
Both the leaders highlighted the plight of the community and elaborated on the activities being done by this organization for the poor and economically weaker sections of the community since it’s inception like organizing Samohak Yagnopavit, solemnizing the marriages of poor girls, organizing langars, helping poor children in their studies and organize periodic medical camps for poor and needy people.
They impressed upon the Union Government to initiate tangible steps to address the genuine problems of the displaced community to end their exile period.
Swami Vishal MaharajJi, greeted KashmiriPandit community on the auspicious occasion of Navreh and delivered religious sermons on the subject and hoped that all their sufferings in exile would end soon.
Vinod Pandita socio political activist also spoke on the occasion. He while presenting vote of thanks appealed the youth to come forward in community service.
