JAMMU, Mar 20: An impressive and grand concluding function of the two-day Navreh Mahotsav 2026, organized by the Navreh Mahotsav Aayojan Samiti-2026, was held at Abhinav Theatre, here this evening.
Earlier, on the call of the Samiti, Tyaag Diwas and Navreh Sankalp Diwas were observed with great enthusiasm and devotion across the country as well as abroad.
The function was graced by Hitesh Shankar, Editor-in-Chief of the national weekly Panchjanya (Delhi), as the chief guest. Swami Nirmalswaroop Ji Maharaj, founder of Sanatan Shridhar Gaushala Sansthan Trust, was the guest of honour.
The function was presided over by Padma Shri Dr. K. N. Pandita, convener of the Aayojan Samiti. Piyare Lal Bhat, co-convenor of the Samiti, delivered the welcome address, outlining the vision and objectives of the Mahotsav.
Addressing the gathering as the chief guest, Hitesh Shankar, stated that Navreh Mahotsav is a day of introspection and remembrance for the community. It is a day to take collective resolve.
Referring to the legacy of Samrat Lalitaditya, he noted that history teaches us that a decisive assertion of strength ensures long-lasting security. He emphasized that the need of the hour is to reflect on what each individual is willing to do and to pursue it with unwavering determination.”We must strengthen the resolve we have taken-we shall return to the land where we once lived and celebrate Navreh there,” he affirmed.
He also highlighted the need for a personality like the revered Shreya Bhat, whose strength and vision once enabled the community’s restoration.
On this occasion, the guest of honour, Swami Nirmalswaroop Ji Maharaj, said that Kashmir has historically been a great center of learning, attracting scholars from across the country and abroad. However, over time, adverse circumstances led to the displacement of an entire community from its Janmabhoomi. He Expressed the hope, that the spirit of Shreya Bhat would re-emerge in Kashmir.
Dr Pandita emphasized the enduring relevance of sacrifice and valour. During the programme, Lakshya, Deeher, Rudra Priya rendered verses from the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita.
In an inspiring atmosphere, the gathering collectively took the Navreh Sankalp, reaffirming their commitment to preserving their cultural roots, traditions, and deep connection with their ancestral Janmabhoomi.
A formal vote of thanks was presented by Padmashri B. L. Bhat, co-convenor of the Samiti.
