Cricket Sub Committee to supervise, control activities: JKCA

JAMMU, Sept 19: For smooth and systematic functioning of JKCA in Jammu region during forthcoming cricket season and for safe guarding the interest of the cricketers, the president of JKCA, Dr Farooq Abdullah, has on August 15, 2014 formulated a Cricket Sub Committee, under clause 8 (iv) (e) of JKCA rules and the powers delegated to him on May 12, 2014. The Sub Committee formed also includes the elected office bearers namely chairman, general secretary and treasurer.
This has been informed by ML Nehru, general secretary JKCA through a notification issued here today.
The Sub Committee includes Arvinder Singh Micky, chairman; ML Nehru, general secretary; GM Bhat, treasurer and members Ankush Abrol, Vinod Bakshi, Hardev Singh, Surinder Singh Bagal and Sanjay Sharma.
The notification said that the Sub Committee is empowered to supervise, control, monitor, oversee and conduct all the necessary cricketing activities including trials and coaching of cricketers and formation of State teams in consultation with the selectors, who have been already appointed by the president in May 2014.
It further said that the Committee will supervise and regulate all the expenses to be incurred on cricketing activities and all activities will be met by the Apex Body and the accounts of expenditure made will be maintained by the Sub Committee and the Apex Body as pert he rules.
The notification added that “It is unfortunate that some JKCA members/cricketers are misleading the cricketers and calling them for some unofficial trials and selections. Such trials and camps are not official and the official trials will be announced and held by the Apex Body at the appropriate time. The groundsmen brought from Srinagar will be engaged at the GGM Science College Hostel Ground and they will work on the preparation of the ground and the wickets will be under the Control of the Sub Committee. ”
