SRINAGAR, Mar 20: Police in Awantipora today arrested two alleged drug peddlers and recovered charas from their possession.
Officials said a police party from Police Post Reshipora had established a checkpoint at Reshipora-Panzgam crossing when they intercepted a vehicle and apprehended two persons identified as Nazim Hamid of Kawani and Faisal Ahmad Bhat of Dogripora.
During the search, as per police, approximately 320 grams of charas-like substance concealed in maize husk, was recovered.
The vehicle bearing registration number JK13J-0219, allegedly used in the commission of the crime, was also seized.
A case under FIR No. 64/2026 has been registered at Police Station Awantipora under relevant sections of law, and further investigation has been initiated.
