JAMMU, Mar 19: To raise awareness about child rights and strengthen child protection systems within schools and communities, National Development Foundation (NDF) in collaboration with School Education Department Jammu here today organized a platform sharing programme at Government High School, Jogwan.
The programme was held in partnership with HDFC Parivartan Programme anchored by BharatCares.
On this occasion 120 participants, including teachers, students and community members, were sensitized on child safety, reporting mechanisms and collective responsibility of society in safeguarding children.
The session also highlighted the importance of child protection in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, emphasizing the need to create safe and supportive environments for the children.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Arundeep Singh, NDF team member.
NDF Programme Officers-Rohit Singh and Nisha Pandita encouraged the participants to remain vigilant, proactive and committed to promoting child rights, ensuring that every child grows in a safe, respectful and nurturing environment. The session also addressed the harmful effects of substance abuse, its impact on child well-being and ways to overcome it through the positive spirit of sports.
The programme concluded with vote of thanks by Ajeet Raj, teacher at Government High School, Jogwan.
