KATHUA, Mar 12: In a continued effort to strengthen rural infrastructure and improve civic amenities, MLA Jasrota, Rajiv Jasrotia today inaugurated a series of development works in Panchayats Hatli, Rasooh and Hote under Block Keerian Gandyal.

The projects, undertaken at an estimated cost of Rs 33 lakh, include the construction of lanes and drains along with the installation of two new electricity transformers to augment power supply in the area.

Rajiv Jasrotia said the projects have been taken up in response to long-standing public demands and are expected to significantly enhance the quality of life in these rural areas. A large number of residents, local representatives and officials attended the ceremonies and expressed satisfaction over the commencement of these works.

Addressing the gathering, Rajiv Jasrotia reiterated his commitment to the overall development of the Jasrota constituency. He said that strengthening infrastructure in rural areas is essential for balanced development and emphasized that his priority remains to ensure that every village receives adequate facilities and improved basic amenities.

The MLA noted that proper lanes and drainage systems play an important role in maintaining sanitation and ensuring smooth movement of people, particularly during the rainy season. He added that the installation of new transformers would help reduce the burden on the existing power infrastructure and ensure better voltage and uninterrupted electricity supply to households and local establishments.

Jasrotia further stated that the Government is making sustained efforts to accelerate development activities across the Union Territory, with special focus on rural and border areas. He said that a number of developmental works are being planned and implemented to upgrade infrastructure, promote economic activities and improve the living standards of people.

He also called upon the concerned departments to maintain quality standards while executing the projects and to ensure their timely completion. The MLA stressed that development works must be carried out transparently and efficiently so that the benefits reach the common people without delay.

Among those present on the occasion were BDO Keerian Gandyal, Dr. Pardeep Singh, Executive Engineer PHE, Sumesh Kumar, AEE PDD Sunil, AEE Flood Control, Akhil Kumar, besides ex Sarpanches and Panches.
