“We have stock of petrol and diesel for more than 15 days. The stock position is being constantly monitored by a control room. There is no need to panic at this time,” he stated.
Addressing concerns over misinformation, the Divisional Commissioner urged the public to rely only on official communications. “We should be aware of any news or fake information that is circulating,” he cautioned.
He said that the administration has also called for public cooperation in curbing hoarding and black marketing. “Citizens can lodge complaints regarding any malpractice at the District Control Room or the 24×7 Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) helpline,” he added.
“Details of the helpline are available on the official X handle, and strict action will be taken against offenders”.
One of the major LGP dealers in Kashmir, Jagmohan Singh Raina told Excelsior that there is no need to panic. He urged people not to panic buying as it causes shortages.
“I will tell the public here, not to panic. Because of any panic sale, the product goes into shortage. Whoever has LPG, if they have sufficient stock, one or two cylinders, do not try to get more than that”, he urged.
“We have enough stock. I have stock for 4-5 days with me. But if the panic sale happens, the stock will end soon,” he added.
“There is storage world over due to the Middle east war. And the Central Government has also assured that they will maintain the supply. They are buying petroleum products from other sources,” he said.
“Government is buying crude oil from Russia. It has spoken to the United States,” he said.
