RAJOURI, Mar 10: The police seized three Tractor trolleys and a JCB machine for illegal mining in Nowshera area of district Rajouri today.
Official sources said that during routine patrolling, a team from Police Station Nowshera, led by SHO Arjun Mangotra under the supervision of SDPO Nowshera, Sahil Mahajan detected illegal mining activities (Extraction and transportation of Bajri) being carried out from the Munawar River in the Dhaliyan area near Army Hospital, along National Highway-144A.
During the operation three Tractor- trolleys with Chassis Numbers, G10027376J, 006511260B1 and JK11G-4426; and one JCB bearing Registration No. JK11D-3095 were seized.
The District Mineral Officer Rajouri was informed about the matter by police. The concerned department has challaned the vehicles and imposed a penalty amounting to Rs 77, 037, an official said.
