JAMMU, Mar 7: Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) Jammu West, Arvind Gupta, kick started development works worth Rs 48 lakh in Ward No. 41 under the CAPEX City Roads 2025–26 plan. The works are being executed by the Municipal Corporation Division–III, Jammu, under the supervision of the Executive Engineer.
The projects included the construction and upgradation of road and drain near Taniya Gupta at Hazuri Bagh and the backside of Dr. Subash, along with the construction and upgradation of lane and allied works near the residence of Shadi Lal Bhat, Lane No. 3, Colonel Colony in Ward No. 41. The total sanctioned amount for the two works is approximately Rs 48 lakh, aimed at improving basic civic infrastructure and providing better connectivity for the local residents.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Arvind Gupta said that strengthening infrastructure such as roads and drainage systems remains a priority for the development of Jammu West. He emphasized that these projects will help improve the living conditions of residents by ensuring better road connectivity and proper drainage facilities in the area.
Gupta further stated that the Government is committed to accelerating developmental activities across all wards and addressing the issues faced by the public. He assured residents that more projects aimed at improving civic amenities will be taken up in the coming months.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by several local leaders and residents, including ex-corporator, Sanjay Baru, Jatin Sethi, Arun Dubey, Keshav Chopra, Bubesh Thappa, Jatinder Khajuria, Savita Manhas, Rakesh Verma, Lokesh, and Kali , among others. The participants appreciated the initiative and expressed hope that the development works would be completed at the earliest for the benefit of the local community.
Residents of the area welcomed the start of the projects and thanked the MLA and concerned authorities for addressing their long-pending demands for improved roads and drainage facilities in the locality.
