JAMMU, Mar 2: MLA Bahu, Choudhary Vikram Randhawa, today started tile work in Ward No. 20 of Gandhinagar under his Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
The work began from the residence of retired Justice GD Sharma and will cover the adjoining lane to improve basic infrastructure in the area.
The project was launched in the presence of Mandal President Rahul Kumar, retired Justice GD Sharma, local residents and officials of the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC).
The JMC officials assured that the work will be completed within the stipulated time and with proper quality standards.
Residents of the area had been demanding repair and upgradation of the lane for a long time as its poor condition was causing inconvenience to the public.
The start of the tile work has brought relief to the locals, who expressed satisfaction over the development.
Speaking on the occasion, Randhawa said that ensuring development at the grassroots level is his responsibility.
He said every ward in his constituency will receive equal attention and genuine public demands will be addressed on priority.
He further stated that the tile work in Ward No. 20 was a long-pending issue and assured that similar development works will be taken up in other areas in a phased manner under CDF and other government schemes.
The residents thanked the MLA for taking up the project and hoped that more civic works would be carried out to improve facilities in the locality.
