SRINAGAR, Mar 1: The Gujjar Bakerwal Employees Association Jammu and Kashmir (UT) (GBEA-UT) has announced the formation of its district bodies for Kashmir Province to strengthen the organisation at the grassroots level.
The announcement in this regard was made through a press statement issued by General Secretary Mehraj-ud-Din Piswal.
It said the nominations were made on the directions of UT President Ch Mohd Asad Noomani after consultations with employees from different districts.
The newly nominated office bearers were recommended by the concerned districts and senior functionaries of the association, the press statement said.
According to the statment, Shahnawaz Ahmed Bajjar and Imtiaz Ahmed Khattana have been nominated as District President and General Secretary for Srinagar, while Fareed Ahmed Bijran and Ashaq Mohd Kassana have been appointed for Ganderbal.
Ch Abdul Aziz and Ch Rafaqat Hussain Khattana will lead Anantnag as District President and General Secretary, and Ch Ghulam Mustafa Baniya and Ch Zakir Hussain Jatla have been nominated as District President and General Secretary for Kupwara.
In Bandipora, Ch Mumtaz Ahmed Bajjar and Ch Javed Ahmed Kalas have been appointed as District President and General Secretary, while Shopian will be headed by Ch Riyaz Ahmed Awan and Ch Abdul Rashid Kohli as District President and General Secretary.
Similarly, Ch Altaf Ahmed Dehdar and Ch Zaffar Gorsi have been nominated as District President and Secretary for Pulwama, and Ch Javed Ahmed Doi and Ch Ashraf Gorsi have been nominated as District President and General Secretary for Kulgam.
For Baramulla district, Ch Nowshad Piswal has been appointed as District President and Mohammad Iqbal Sood as General Secretary.
Meanwhile, GEBA said the executive meetings will be held in all districts after Eid to formally introduce the new bodies and announce the executive committees.
The Association reiterated its commitment to raising issues concerning employees of the Gujjar and Bakerwal communities, including TET examinations, reservations in promotions, regularisation of seasonal teachers, DPCs, daily wagers, NYC workers and other service-related matters.
The newly appointed office bearers assured that they would work to protect employees’ rights and strengthen the organisation across the province.
