MOSCOW, Feb 26: The Russian State Duma adopted an appeal to the French National Assembly, the UK House of Commons, the German Parliament, the European Parliament and the United Nations in connection with the information on the plans of Paris and London to supply nuclear weapons components to Kyiv.
On Tuesday, the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) said that the UK and France are preparing to transfer nuclear weapons to Kyiv.
The appeal says that State Duma deputies consider such intentions by Paris and London to be a blatant violation of international law, primarily the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, and such a step, in their opinion, is capable of putting the world on the brink of a nuclear catastrophe, Sputnik said.
The lawmakers noted that the implementation of such thoughtless plans by the French and UK leadership would lead to an escalation of the conflict with a possible tragic outcome on a global scale.
This was announced on February 25 by Leonid Slutsky, head of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs.
“The International Affairs Committee has prepared and submitted for consideration a draft appeal to the National Assembly of France, the House of Commons of Great Britain, the European Parliament and the United Nations in connection with information from the SVR about plans by Paris and London to supply nuclear weapons components to Kyiv,” Slutsky said.
