Two held with sharp-edged weapon

JAMMU, Feb 22: Police here in RS Pura area today claimed to have arrested two alleged hardcore criminals besides recovering a sharp-edged weapon from their possession.
A police official said on February 21, a team from Police Station RS Pura was on patrol near Main Road Chohala Kothey when they noticed two persons moving suspiciously on a motorcycle (JK02CN-2265.
On seeing the police, he said, both tried to flee from the spot but were chased and apprehended.
The accused were identified as Rohit Kumar alias Shotu and Laddi Kumar, both residents of Rathana, Tehsil RS Pura.
The police official further said that during personal search of the duo, police recovered a sharp-edged weapon (toka) concealed in the rear side of the trousers of the pillion rider. The weapon was seized on the spot, he said.
Accordingly, a case FIR number 43/2026 under Sections 4/25 Arms Act and 3(5) of the BNS was registered at Police Station RS Pura and further investigation taken up, he added.
