RAMBAN, Feb 21: About 12 persons were injured here today in two separate road accidents in Banihal area.
The first accident took place this morning near Railway Chowk along Jammu-Srinagar National Highway 44 in Banihal in which five passengers were injured after a car of Hyundai Creta make bearing registration number UP20CY-5823 while moving from Jammu to Srinagar went out of the control of the driver and crashed into a road divider.
Locals and cops rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Banihal. They were later on referred to Government Medical College, Anantnag for specialized treatment.
The injured were identified as Resha Begum, 45, wife of Layeeq Ahmed; Shahnawaz Ahmed, 28, son of Layeeq Ahmed; Saima, 20, daughter of Mohammad Hassan; Mohammad Saleem, 17, son of Zahid Ahmed; and Mohammad Nouman, 18, son of Mukhtiyar Ahmed, all residents of Uttar Pradesh.
Hospital sources informed that condition of all the five injured was stable.
Meanwhile, in a separate accident later this evening, seven persons, including three minors, were injured when a car of Ertiga make bearing registration number JK01AW-4650 met with an accident near Shearbibi Chamalwas area of Banihal. The vehicle was reportedly on its way to Jammu from Kashmir when the driver allegedly lost control over the wheels.
Locals and cops shifted the injured to SDH Banihal for treatment.
The injured were identified as Nazir Ahmed, 60, son of Ghulam Mohammad, resident of Badshah Bagh, Srinagar; Mojabine, 55, wife of Nazir Ahmed; Mayomana Begum, 35, wife of Bilal Ahmed; Hazib, 6, son of Showkat; Farhan, son of Bilal Ahmed; Sanjulla Dar, 63, son of Ali Mohammad Dar, resident of Babher, Pulwama and Taiba Azad, 8, daughter of Mohammad Azad.
Hospital sources informed that all the injured were stable.
Police have registered cases in both these incidents and started investigation.
