Zorawar slams Satish Sharma for ‘mindless’ drug trade allegations

JAMMU, Feb 21: BJP UT spokesperson Zorawar Singh Jamwal has strongly condemned Minister Satish Sharma for what he termed as “mindless and irresponsible allegations” regarding the alleged involvement of political families and police personnel in the drug trade.
Reacting sharply to the Minister’s remarks made in the Legislative Assembly, Jamwal said such sweeping statements without evidence only create confusion and malign public life.
Jamwal questioned the intent behind Sharma’s claims and asked why the Minister failed to disclose any names on the floor of the House despite asserting that he was not afraid of anyone.
“If Satish Sharma has concrete information against any BJP leader, he should place it in the public domain instead of indulging in a blame game. Making vague and sensational statements inside the Assembly and then withholding names raises serious doubts about his credibility,” Jamwal said.
He said the BJP does not shield anyone involved in illegal activities and maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards drug trafficking.
“If there is even an iota of evidence against any BJP leader, we will ourselves look into the matter seriously. The party will not hesitate to take strict action if anyone is found guilty. But reckless allegations without proof are unacceptable,” he added.
Jamwal further accused the Minister of attempting to divert attention from governance failures by dragging political opponents into controversy.
