Samba police attaches vehicle of bovine smuggler

SAMBA, Feb 16: Samba police has attached a vehicle worth Rs. 9,82,000.00 approximately belonging to a habitual bovine smuggler under Section 107 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), in compliance with the orders passed by the Court Samba.
A police spokesman said, the attached property is a Mahindra Auto Load Carrier bearing Registration No. JK02DM-0781 owned by habitual bovine smuggler namely Mohd Hanif, son of Abdul Rashid of Chak Mohdyar, R.S. Pura, district Jammu. The vehicle was found involved in FIR No. 223/2025 U/S 223 BNS, 11 PCA Act registered at Police Station Samba, he said.
The spokesman said during the course of investigation, including scrutiny of criminal antecedents and financial aspects, it has been established that the accused person Mohammed Hanif had no legal source of income and the said vehicle had been purchased through the illegal activities. The accused is a notorious bovine smuggler and is involved in a number of bovine smuggling cases registered against him in other districts of UT including PS Jhajjar Kotli and PS Nagrota of district Jammu and PS Batote & PS Ramban of district Ramban too.
Further investigation revealed that the same Mahindra Auto Load Carrier was also found involved in multiple cases of bovine smuggling registered at different Police Stations of districts Jammu, Udhampur and Ramban.
Accordingly, the said vehicle has been lawfully seized and attached under Section 107 BNSS, he said.
