CCI urges PM to extend dates for filing IT returns

JAMMU, Sept 12: The Chamber of Commerce and Industry  (CCI) Jammu has urged upon the Prime Minister of India to intervene personally and extend dates for depositing 2nd installment of Advanced Income Tax as well as filing of Annual Audit returns.
In letter rushed to Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, the Jammu  Chamber members led by president Rakesh Gupta and secretary general Arun Gupta said that in view of natural calamity in Jammu and Kashmir and the engagement of whole Government machinery in the relief and rescue work, it is not possible for the traders to deposit annual Audit returns in time. The whole commercial activities have been stalled due situation in view of floods.
The CCI also urged upon the Prime Minister to provide more boats and helicopters and food material so that people could be provided timely help. They lauded the efforts of Government of India, Army and Air Force besides Central rescue teams. No doubt people of Kashmir require much needed help but other areas of Jammu should also be taken care of. They  urged upon the Government to expedite  relief and rehabilitation work in Rajouri, Poonch, Reasi and other areas of Jammu region.
