DIG reviews security for tourist destinations

JAMMU, Feb 10: In view of tourist footfall at various destinations across the Doda-Kishtwar-Ramban (DKR) Range, a comprehensive security review meeting was conducted by DIGP DKR Range, Shridhar Patil. The meeting focused on assessing and strengthening the overall security framework to ensure a safe and secure environment for visiting tourists.
Officers from the District Police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) participated in the meeting. Detailed deliberations were held on the effective implementation of security Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), enhancement of access control and surveillance measures and improved coordination among security agencies deployed at key tourist locations.
Emphasis was laid on updating of contingency plans, along with the conduct of mock drills to strengthen preparedness and response capabilities.
The DIG exhorted all concerned to implement measures in a coordinated and time-bound manner for maintaining a high level of alertness and operational readiness to effectively address any emergent situation.
