DODA, Feb 7: On the directions of SSP Doda, Sandeep Mehta, Police here today arrested two drug peddlers and recovered heroin-like substance weighing about 20 grams from them.
During patrolling at Sadeeqabad area, cops from Police Station Doda, led by PSI Tavseef Rafiq under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Doda, Krishan Rattan intercepted two suspicious individuals who attempted to flee upon noticing Police.
They were caught and were identified as Piyush Katoch, son of Fulail Singh and Mohd Taqi, son of Mushtaq Ahmed, both residents of Muthi Marmat, Doda.
During search, a pouch containing approximately 9-10 gram of heroin-like substance was recovered from Piyush Katoch, while another pouch containing about 10 gram of heroin-like substance was recovered from Mohd Taqi, making the total recovery to approximately 20 grams.
Accordingly, both persons were arrested and FIR No. 28/2026 under Sections 8, 21 and 22 of the NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Doda and investigation started.
