JAMMU, Feb 7: BJP leader and District Development Council (DDC) member Suresh Sharma today inaugurated a newly constructed waiting hall at Guru Ravidas Sabha, Godan, in Panchayat Kandi of Block Maira Mandrian.
The waiting hall has been constructed at a cost of Rs 5 lakh from the DDC development fund of Suresh Sharma. The demand for this facility was raised by members of the Guru Ravidas Sabha on the occasion of Guru Ravidas Jayanti last year. Taking immediate cognizance of the request, Suresh Sharma had announced the construction of the waiting hall, which has now been completed and inaugurated.
Addressing the gathering, Suresh Sharma said that over the past five years, development works have been carried out in Block Maira Mandrian and Chowki Choura by keeping public demands at the forefront.
He added that people have deep faith in various religious places across the region, and wherever the public expressed the need for development works, efforts were made to fulfill those demands accordingly.
Sharma further assured that in the coming times as well, development activities would continue to be undertaken keeping public welfare and local requirements in mind.
Later, Suresh Sharma visited village Kufi Dhanna in Panchayat Nardi, where he listened to public grievances. Responding to the villagers’ main demand regarding road connectivity, he informed that the tendering process has already been completed and the construction work will begin shortly.
On the occasion, senior BJP leader Master Sansar Singh, Ashok Singh, Rashpal Kumar, Yashpal Singh, presidents of Guru Ravidas Sabha Nardi and Godan Sanju Kumar, along with Darshan Lal, Sunil Kumar, Jagar Ram, Sita Ram, Madan Lal, Davinder Kumar, Ram Dhan and several others were also present.
