RAMBAN, Feb 4: Police here today arrested a person and recovered heroin from him during a routine naka checking at Banihal.
Cops from Police Station Banihal during a routine checking at T-Chowk, NH-44, Banihal, intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK03P-1946. As driver of the vehicle behaved suspiciously upon noticing the cops, he was apprehended for further checking.
During his personal search, Police recovered a contraband substance suspected to be heroin, weighing approximately 4 to 5 gram.
In this connection, an FIR with number 16/2026 Under Sections 8/21/22 of NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Banihal and investigation started.
The accused has been identified as Irshad Ahmad Ganie, son of Ghulam Rasool Ganie, resident of Shehlipora, Achabal, Anantnag.
