No Proposal To Provide Monthly Financial Assistance To Young Advocates: J&K Govt

Jammu, Feb 4: The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Wednesday said that it has no proposal under consideration to provide monthly financial assistance to young advocates with more than three years of legal practice.
The information was shared by the Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs in response to an Assembly Question No. 922 raised by MLA Shamim Firdous, Replying to the question on whether the government intends to extend financial assistance to young advocates and, if so, the timeline for the same, the Minister In-charge stated that no such proposal is presently under consideration.
The government further clarified that while certain forms of assistance are provided to advocates, extending regular financial support to one category of professionals could trigger similar demands from other professional and technocrat groups, many of whom are also licensed but do not receive any such assistance.
“This would have serious financial implications for the government,” the reply said. (KNC)
