Excelsior Correspondent
UDHAMPUR, Feb 1: Monthly meeting of Jammu Kashmir Teachers’ Joint Action Committee ( JKTJAC) was held here today under the leadership of UT President Vinod Sharma.
Speaking on the occasion, Vinod Sharma raised the issues of the teachers and urged the Education Minister and Secretary School Education to resolve the same for the welfare of thousands of teachers of Jammu and Kashmir.
Raising the burning issue of comprehensive transfer policy in favour of teachers appointed under ReT scheme, he urged the committee constituted for providing transfer policy in favour of teachers appointed under ReT scheme to expedite the process so that teachers get the justice.
Highlighting the issue of release of MDM dues, Mr Sharma said that teachers have managed money (a huge amount) from their own pockets for purchasing eating ingredients for smooth functioning of Mid Day Meals but funds have been released for only 2 to 3 months in 2025-26 and teachers are now unable to continue the same. He appealed the authorities concerned to look into the matter immediately and get released the pending dues under MDM, otherwise they will be forced to stop Mid Day Meals and for the suffering of poor students concerned authorities will be responsible.
He also appealed Director School Education Jammu for issuance of another DPC of Teachers to Masters to avoid stagnation. He also demanded regularisation of left out ReTs who have completed 5 years ReT period, conversion of RRETs to Teachers Grade II/ III, DPC of other cadres including clerical, release of time barred arrears of Teachers/Masters, raising Grade of teachers at par with their counter parts in other UTs, earned leave in favour of teachers engaged during summer/ winter vacation for summer/ winter camps and for other duties, filling up of vacant posts of Headmasters in headless schools,.
Meanwhile, JKTJAC leadership has supported the protest call of Jammu Kashmir Employees Joint Consultative Committee (JKEJCC) of February 5, 2906 for the timely release of GP Fund bills, Gratuity and other retirement dues of the employees.
