SAMBA, Feb 1: Samba police in coordination with Drugs Control Department sealed two medical shops in Ramgarh for violating provisions of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940.
During joint inspections by Samba police and drug inspectors, the team recovered 1989 Pregabalin capsules from shop M/S Jai Laxmi Medicos and 23710 Pregabalin capsules from shop M/S Vaishnavi Medical Agency at Ramgarh. The recovered medicines were found to be without any supporting bills or vouchers and no proper records were maintained. Additionally, the medicines were being sold without valid prescriptions, as mandated by law.
The absence of documentation and record-keeping constituted a clear violation of statutory provisions. Accordingly, both medical shops were sealed by the Drugs Control Department in the presence of police under Section 22(1)(d) of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940.
