UP Tableau wins second prize in popular choice category at Republic Day parade

NEW DELHI, Jan 30 : Uttar Pradesh has once again earned national recognition at the Republic Day Parade, with its tableau winning the second prize in the ‘Popular Choice’ category at the event held on Kartavya Path, an official statement said here on Friday.
The achievement marks the seventh consecutive year that the state has been honoured for its tableau at the national parade.
Presented under the theme ‘Mantra of Prosperity – Self-Reliant India,’ the Uttar Pradesh tableau showcased a striking blend of Bundelkhand’s rich cultural heritage and the state’s modern development journey.
The display drew widespread attention for its detailed portrayal of historical, cultural and contemporary elements, reflecting the state’s evolving identity under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
The award was presented at a ceremony held at the National Rangshala Camp in New Delhi, where Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth handed over the citation and memento to Arvind Kumar Mishra, Additional Director of the Department of Information and Public Relations.
This year’s Republic Day Parade featured 30 tableaux from 17 states and union Territories, along with representations from 13 central ministries and departments. Based on public voting in the Popular Choice category, Uttar Pradesh secured the second position.
The tableau highlighted Bundelkhand’s historical legacy through depictions of the rock art of Kalinjar Fort and the Ekmukh Lingam, symbolising the region’s ancient spiritual and cultural roots.
Alongside these, it showcased Bundelkhand’s pottery, bead craft and traditional handicrafts, the ‘One District One Product’ initiative, the BrahMos missile, expanding expressway networks and modern infrastructure, presenting a comprehensive picture of the state’s cultural depth and development momentum.
Uttar Pradesh’s consistent performance over the years has helped it carve a distinct identity on the national stage.
The state had earlier won the second prize in 2020, first prizes in 2021 and 2022, a third prize in the Jury category and second prize in the Popular Choice category in 2023, second prize in the Popular Choice category in 2024, and both first prize in the Jury category and second prize in the Popular Choice category in 2025.
