JAMMU, Jan 28: Shiv Sena (UBT) J&K unit has demanded that both the Jammu as well as Kashmir divisions should be treated equally at educational and developmental levels.
In a press conference here today Shiv Sena State president, Manish Sahni said giving National Law University (NLU) to only one region will be discrimination with Jammu province.
He said that politics is being played with Jammu as the closure of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Medical College, selection of all players from the Kashmir division in Santosh Trophy and now the NLU controversy are clear evidences.
Sahni flayed CM Omar Abdullah’s statement that Jammu has institutions like IIT and IIM.
He said that BJP is silently watching these all developments.
“Jammu has already suffered the consequences of closure of the medical college, so the NLU should be given to Jammu,” the Shiv Sena leader maintained.
He suggested that the government should open a NLU in Jammu and another in Kashmir.
Vikas Bakshi, Sanjeev Kohli and Aditya Mahajan were present in the press conference.
