NEW DELHI, Jan 28: Eminent Theatre Director, Padma Shri Balwant Thakur here today called on Union Minister for Tourism and Culture, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat.
During meeting, Thakur said that he recently witnessed the grand cultural spectacle ‘Vande Mataram-The Eternal Resonance of Bharat’ at Kartavya Path, an extraordinary presentation featuring over 2,500 artists from across the country.
He lauded the Ministry of Culture’s Republic Day tableau ‘Swatantrata Ka Mantra: Vande Mataram’ which emerged as one of the most compelling presentations of the parade, seamlessly integrating tradition, innovation and national pride.
Thakur asked the Union Minister that the successful hosting the world’s largest international theatre festival in India through the National School of Drama was a landmark moment for Indian theatre and global cultural exchange.
He shared his creative reflections and professional insights with the Minister and mentioned about the Ministry’s unwavering commitment to artistic integrity, the ambitious scale of execution and the inclusive representation of India’s diverse cultural traditions.
Thakur articulated his long-standing vision for India’s cultural diplomacy.
The Union Minister appreciated Thakur’s observations and contributions, acknowledging the pivotal role of cultural practitioners in shaping and strengthening India’s global cultural identity.
