JAMMU, Jan 27: Various political parties celebrated 77th Republic Day with enthusiasm and patriotic fervour across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Jammu & Kashmir unit, celebrated the Republic Day of India with great enthusiasm, patriotic zeal, and a strong commitment to the nation across the Union Territory.
Marking the historic occasion, BJP leaders and party workers unfurled the National Flag at prominent localities, chowks, party offices, and key public places. The celebrations were accompanied by spirited patriotic slogans, the singing of national songs, and the distribution of sweets, reflecting the collective pride and joy of the occasion.
At the BJP headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, the National Flag was unfurled by party’s J&K president and Rajya Sabha MP Sat Sharma, along with general secretary (Organization) Ashok Koul, general secretaries Baldev Singh Billawaria and Gopal Mahajan, MLA Vikram Randhawa, District president Naresh Singh Jasrotia, and other senior party leaders.
At the BJP office, Kachi Chawni, Jammu, MP Ghulam Ali Khatana, MLA Arvind Gupta, District president Rajesh Gupta, and senior BJP leaders unfurled the National Flag.
At City Chowk, Jammu, the tri-colour was unfurled by MP Jugal Kishore Sharma, MLA Yudhvir Sethi, along with other party leaders.
Extending greetings to the people of the nation on Republic Day, Sat Sharma said that India stands tall as the world’s largest and most vibrant democracy, guided by the visionary framework of the Indian Constitution. He emphasized that the Constitution not only guarantees civil rights but also instills a sense of duty, discipline, and national responsibility among citizens. He urged everyone to reaffirm their commitment to democratic values and actively contribute towards building a strong, self-reliant, and developed India.
Speaking on the occasion, Ashok Koul said that the BJP celebrates Republic Day with a deep sense of responsibility and devotion to the nation. He called upon citizens to celebrate the day by reaffirming faith in the constitutional values of justice, liberty, equality, and national unity.
BJP MLA, Devyani Rana unfurled National Flag at Gandhinagar to mark the Republic Day. A large number of members of Greenbelt Morning Walkers Association were present on the occasion. About 250 morning walkers and their families held an impressive programme in this connection and paid tributes to the martyrs of the country.
Speaking on the occasion Rana greeted residents of the area and mentioned her family’s third generation association with the morning walkers.
BJP OBC Morcha also celebrated the special occasion of Republic Day across Jammu Kashmir with enthusiasm and unfurled National Flag at different sites .

BJP Minority Morcha president Ranjodh Singh Nalwa unfurled National Flag at the historic Lal Chowk in Srinagar on the eve of Republic Day, calling upon the people of J&K to uphold constitutional values for nation’s progress and work collectively to make India a developed nation.
Addressing a well-attended gathering at Lal Chowk, Nalwa said ‘such occasions add energy to our collective resolve to make a Viksit Bharat.
The function was organised by Minority Morcha and Nalwa was chief guest on the occasion.
Nalwa, who had last year taken out massive ‘Tiranga Yatras’ in the valley also took a dig at the ruling NC and its alliance partner Congress, allegedly holding them responsible for the present turmoil in the UT.
Senior BJP leader and DDC Member from RS Pura Vidya Moton unfurled the National Fl;ag at village Ganda to mark the 77th Republic Day. The grand function, drew a massive turnout from across the region, with participants echoing patriotic slogans and songs that filled the air with unbridled joy.
In her inspiring address, Motan highlighted the significance of this momentous day, symbolizing the country’s hard-won freedom, equality, and integrity. She reminded the gathering that on this very day in 1950, India adopted its Constitution, enshrining fundamental rights such as freedom of speech, religion, and personal liberty, ensuring every citizen’s right to live with dignity.
J&K National Conference celebrated the 77th Republic Day with great enthusiasm and unity at party office, Residency Road Jammu.
Provincial president for Jammu, Rattan Lal Gupta unfurled the National Flag in presence of party leaders and workers besides others. Gupta congratulated the people on this occasion and recalled the sacrifices of the national heroes. The National Anthem was also sung by the gathering on the occasion.
He stressed the need for preserving and promoting the secular ethos, saying unity in diversity is the biggest strength of the nation. He also hoisted tricolor at Indira Chowk.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included-Ajay Sadhotra, Sheikh Bashir Ahmed, Bimla Luthra, Dr Chaman Lal, Pardeep Bali, Ayub Malik, Vijay Lochan, Ankush Abrol, Abdul Gani Teli, Chander Mohan Sharma, Subash Bhagat, Vijay Laxmi Dutta and others.
Congress Party celebrated Republic Day of India with full patriotic fervour and disciplined enthusiasm. A grand function was held at Gangyal, Jammu, to mark the historic occasion.
Former Minister and JKPCC working president, Raman Bhalla, along with former Chairman, Jammu Municipal Corporation and Pradesh Congress general secretary, Satish Sharma, jointly hoisted the National Flag. The ceremony, accompanied by the National Anthem, resonated with strong national pride across the area.
Raman Bhalla while delivering a strong message, stating that the Indian Constitution is the backbone of the nation’s democracy and must be defended against all attempts to weaken it. He asserted that Republic Day stands as a reminder of the hard-earned democratic rights of the people and the responsibility of elected representatives to safeguard justice, equality and secular values. Bhalla emphasized that the Congress party remains firmly committed to protecting constitutional principles and standing with the common people in every struggle for democracy.
Satish Sharma underlined that Republic Day is not merely ceremonial, but a reaffirmation of the nation’s resolve to uphold democratic institutions. He stated that the values of liberty, equality, fraternity and social justice must guide governance at every level. Sharma called upon the youth to come forward as responsible citizens and contribute actively to nation-building. He reiterated that the Congress party will continue to work relentlessly for peace, development and inclusive growth in Jammu and Kashmir.
Congress Jammu (Rural) district president, Neeraj Kundan unfurled National Flag at multiple locations on the Republic Day across the district.
The flag-hoisting ceremonies were held at prominent public spots including Bishnah Bazar, Arnia Bazar, Kool Kalan, and Salehar. These events resonated with the spirit of unity, pride, and reverence for the nation’s Constitution, drawing enthusiastic participation from local leaders, party workers, and residents.
The programs were graced by distinguished attendees, including Bishnah Block president Vijay Tagotra, Arnia Block president Kailash Saini, Sarpanch Subash Saini, Sarpanch Jyoti Lal, Yash Budda, Lovely Charak, Jagir Lal, Keemti Lal, Sohan Singh, Capt Harisharan, Bawa Ram Raghu and several other prominent citizens and Congress supporters. Their presence underscored the collective resolve to celebrate the Republic’s foundational ideals.
Addressing the gatherings, Neeraj Kundan emphasized the enduring significance of the Indian Constitution. “The Constitution is the very soul of India,” he declared.
The events featured patriotic songs, tributes to the freedom fighters and martyrs, and messages of national integration, fostering a sense of shared purpose amid the festive atmosphere.
Former Minister/ Congress leader, and renowned Jatt leader Ch Gharu Ram unfurled National Flag on the occasion of 77th Republic Day of India at W.No. 12, RS Pura, Jammu. On the occasion Ch. Gharu Ram paid tributes to the martyred who sacrificed their life in protecting the nation and who fought for the freedom of our country.
Apni Party leaders and senior workers gathered today at the party headquarters in Srinagar to celebrate Republic Day.
Party president Altaf Bukhari unfurled the tri-colour during the celebrations. The atmosphere was cheerful as party leaders and workers enthusiastically took part, sang the national anthem, and raised patriotic slogans.
After the event, Bukhari spoke to reporters and extended greetings to the people on this Republic Day.
Responding a question regarding the demand for the separation of the Jammu region, he said, “Such calls have been raised for the past 75 years; there is nothing new about it. The fact is that both regions-Jammu and the Kashmir -have their own complaints and grievances. The Central Government must step forward to address these issues. Both regions are equal and should be treated as such.”
“Unfortunately, the BJP communalised Jammu to secure Hindu votes during the 2024 Assembly elections, and in response, the NC adopted a similar approach in the Valley. This polarisation along religious lines has damaged the social and secular fabric of Jammu and Kashmir,” he added.
JKNPP (Bhim) celebrates 77th Republic Day with patriotic fervour at party office, Gandhinagar in Jammu on Monday. The party president, Vilakshan Singh hoisted the National Flag.
The event brought together senior leadership and party workers to commemorate the historic adoption of the Indian Constitution and to reaffirm their commitment to the nation’s democratic values. The gathering stressed the need for standing together to pay homage to the freedom fighters and architects of the Constitution who laid the foundation of a sovereign India.
Addressing the gathering, Vilakshan Singh extended his heartfelt greetings to the people of Jammu & Kashmir. In his address, he emphasized that Republic Day is a reminder of the power vested in the common man by the Constitution.
Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) youth wing celebrated Republic Day along with senior leaders of the party at Amphalla Road, Jammu.
While extending greetings to the nation in general and the people of J&K in particular, Rishi Kilam NCP National Youth leader and prominent social activists hoisted the national flag with enthusiasm and dignity.
