RAJOURI, Jan 25: An incident of firing was reported from village Rajpur Bhata, where a family dispute between two brothers escalated into violence.
According to details, Santokh Singh and Jaspal Singh, sons of Pritam Singh and residents of village Rajpur Bhata, had an altercation over a domestic matter. During the dispute, Santokh Singh allegedly fired a .12-bore gun at his brother Jaspal Singh.
As a result, Jaspal Singh sustained gunshot injuries to both legs. He was immediately shifted to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Nowshera for preliminary treatment and was later referred to Government Medical College (GMC) Rajouri for advanced medical care. His condition is stated to be stable now.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident, and a case has been registered. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the exact circumstances leading to the incident.
