Two killed in car-bike collision in Nowshera

RAJOURI, Jan 25: Two persons were killed in a collision between a four-wheeler and a motorcycle near Dhalian area of Nowshera in Rajouri district today, officials said.
The accident occurred when a car bearing registration number JK12D-8198, on its way from Jammu to Rajouri, went out of control and hit a motorcycle, they said.
The bike was being driven by Abdul Majid, son of Ghulam Nabi of Dharmunda, with Ashraf Ahmed, son of Mohammad Rafiq of Batote in Ramban district, riding pillion. Both sustained critical injuries.
Officials said a team of Jammu and Kashmir Police from Police Station Nowshera, led by SHO Arjun Magotra, reached the spot and shifted the injured to Sub-District Hospital Nowshera.
“They were later referred to Government Medical College Jammu for advanced treatment, where both were declared brought dead,” a police officer said.
Police have registered FIR number 18/2026 under sections 281 and 125(a) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at Police Station Nowshera and started further investigation.
